You have a lot of initials after your name, please tell me what do they mean?

They are my credentials. It’s licenses and certifications in abbreviation, like a doctor has M.D. after his/her name. I have a Masters of Science in Acupuncture, a Bachelors of Professional Studies in Health Science, an Associates in Occupational studies in Massage Therapy from the New York College of Health Professions. I completed the Tri State School of Acupuncture’s postgraduate program in Orthopedics and Rehabilitation, studied extensively in the Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture System. I am a certified (NAET) Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Technique practitioner. I am a certified Energetix Homeopathic therapist as well as, certified and trained in Acutron needleless acupuncture. I am a trained Kinesiologist and expert with bio energetic testing.  Additionally, I’m certified to perform medical massage, structural integration and certified in eastern bodywork including, Amma Therapy and Tui Na. It’s a simplified version my certifications and licenses.

​You love educating yourself. Are you done, or do you think you have more to learn?

In my medical career, it’s ever changing and always growing. I’m always learning new things to improve myself and my skill set. By New York state law, we are required to a certain amount of continuing education credits to keep our acupuncture and massage license current and active. There are so many techniques and so many ways to treat, I am certain I will always continue to educate myself beyond the requirements.

​I heard you were a wonderful teacher at New York College of Professions, and now you are mentoring. Which do you prefer?

I have no preference. They are truly one in the same, or should I say, they go hand in hand. I believe that mentoring is teaching and helping someone to master their skill set is just as rewarding as teaching a class of students.

​Do you only administer acupuncture and massage to your patients or do you do other stuff?

I provide many different modalities for my patients. Firstly, there are four branches of oriental medicine: Acupuncture, Manual Therapy, Exercise/ Qigong, and Herbs/ Nutrition. I incorporate and educate my patients of all these with my treatment plans. Additionally, I am a Young Living Essential Oils Independent distributor. I use these medical grade essential oils in my treatments topically and diffuse them during treatments for aroma therapeutic benefits as well. I also provide NAET therapy, which is an alternative therapy for allergies. I do Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, medical massage, and structural integration therapy. ​Be honest, is acupuncture painful?

In my opinion, if it is administered correctly it should not be painful. It is more of a matter of sensation. There may be times when a stronger sensation is necessary for treatment. However, I explain this prior to the treatment and prepare the patient before hand.

​You do so much for others, what do you do for yourself?

Honestly, I work a lot of long hours and I work 7 days a week. I am very dedicated to the practice of alternative medicine. I get such a fulfillment from treating others. However, in order to maintain my balance I practice yoga, I have incorporated weekly massages, acupuncture treatments and I take detox baths nightly. I take herbal supplements and homeopathic to maintain balance in my body. For fun, I spend as much time I can with my dog Pee Wee. If I do indulge it has to be good quality, organic quality. If I indulge in rich foods it must be good gourmet foods. Anything I consume must be of a high quality.

​Of all the careers that are out there why did you choose to be an acupuncturist, why not a surgeon or a school teacher?

I feel that I was born to do this. I feel a deep connection to the field I have chosen. I mean I have the best of all worlds. I love being a healer, teacher, and a student. I get a great fulfillment from helping others. I now teach by mentoring. I learn by continually expanding my knowledge. I truly have a passion for the practice of oriental medicine. I really love that personal one on one connection to my patients. When I take on a case, they are not just a number to me. My patients often become like family.

​I asked this question to my last cover, now I am asking you. What is your favorite healthy snack?

Definitely steamed pumpkin with cinnamon and honey. It helps to strengthen and balance digestion of the Energetix system and it tastes delicious.

​What is your source of inspiration?

My mother. My mom was a single mother and sacrificed many things in order to provide for my brother and I. I strive for excellence so that her sacrifices are not in vain.
